Time To Say Thanks

I have a bad habit of not stopping what I am doing and thanking God for what He has done for me lately.  So today, I want to brag a little bit about my Jesus.  About a week ago, I woke up with a great deal of pain in my lower back.  The way that it felt, I knew it was not a muscle cramp or spasm.  I was sure I had a herniated disc just like the one I had three years ago in my neck.  I could barely stand up straight.  No matter what I did, I could not get any relief.  I called my doctor and he agreed to see me right away.  After examining me, he too thought it might be a problem with a disc.  He sent me for an MRI.  The MRI showed two bulging discs in my lower back.  He told me that I would not need surgery however, and that he could treat me with just meds and maybe a little therapy.  I want you to know that within 24 hours, those meds helped to take away the inflammation around the discs.  The pain was gone and I was able to walk around without any trouble.  It truly felt like a miracle!

I want to take about 5 or 10 minutes each day to thank God for all that He does for me.  I almost take it for granted.  But that is wrong, and I want to correct that right away.  God works behind the scenes everyday to make things better in our lives.  Most of the time, we don't really give it a second thought.  But if we are truly honest with ourselves, we know that He does a tremendous amount for us every day.  Have you thanked Him today for His many blessings?  I bet He would really appreciate it.

Dear Father.  Thank you for helping me with my back pain.  I am sorry I don't thank you more than I do.  I promise to work on that.  Help me to remember to take just a few minutes each day to thank you for the many blessings you have given me.  In Jesus name, Amen.
